Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The real ales take the spotlight at Wath Tap, and patrons rave about the constantly rotating selection. Regular customers appreciate the knowledgeable staff who can recommend brews based on individual preferences and tastes. The welcoming atmosphere creates a homey vibe, making it easy for newcomers to feel like regulars in no time.

Monthly music nights combined with free buffets are a crowd favorite, creating a fun and engaging experience. The outdoor seating area proves popular on sunny days, perfect for enjoying drinks with friends or pets. Additionally, the low price range of £1–10 offers great value, attracting budget-conscious visitors while maintaining quality.

Most Disliked

Some visitors mention that Wath Tap can get quite crowded, especially during peak times like Wednesday evenings. This popularity can sometimes lead to longer wait times at the bar, which may be inconvenient for those in a hurry. Additionally, being a smaller venue, seating is limited during busy hours, potentially leading to difficulty finding a place to sit. Some guests have observed that occasional noise levels can rise, especially during quiz nights or busy weekends, affecting conversations.

On some occasions, the menu may lack extensive food options, focusing primarily on drinks. This can leave patrons wanting more substantial snack offerings while enjoying their ales. Overall, while these factors may pose minor inconveniences, they do not detract significantly from the overall charm and appeal of Wath Tap.

A superb microbar deservedly in the Good Beer Guide. Tiled walls from its former use add to the atmosphere. Choice of 6 cask ales plus some stellar keg lines. A weekly quiz and a monthly music night must keep the regulars coming back for more if the well kept ales and friendly service is not a good enough reason.

I come here every Monday night with mates after we've played football. Great for quenching the thirst- Roy and Mel welcome us each week and always have a laugh with us. The choice is always varied, large and for all tastes/preferences. I'm a beer and ale man, however I know the lagers and ciders are top notch. Music night last Monday each month with free buffet is real treat.

Visited to sing Christmas carols and songs at The Tap. Met some lovely people. Great atmosphere and sense of community. Drinks were the best too! The lady who owns and runs the Tap is a lovely lady. We'll visit again. Thank you for a lovely evening.
